🌟 Wednesday's Weekly Junior Roundup 🌟
Last week saw a busy schedule with all the minis away at Rochdale, and the U14s hosting Sandal and the U15s hosting Rochdale. The all weather pitch, known as Kensington was in great nick following the stormy weather. Unfortunately the U16 girls cup game was postponed. Match reports below
πŸ‰Rochdale U7s vs. Crocs U7s
Another outstanding turnout from the future world champions! Both sides were able to field three teams!
We came up against a very strong Rochdale. However, all the games were really closely contested.
Some great running and tries scored. We just need to work on our support play and passing, but a great morning of rugby overall. Loads of fun in the sunshine!
Croc 🐊 of the week went to Freddie Lamb for some great running, fantastic tries, and a brilliant positive attitude. Well done Freddie!
πŸ‰Old Crocs U8s Match Report
The Old Crocs Under 8s enjoyed another brilliant outing this weekend as they travelled away to Rochdale on a beautifully sunny day.
With a strong squad and plenty of enthusiasm, the team put on a great display of tagging, running, and teamwork. Every player contributed with real effort and energy, making it a thoroughly enjoyable set of matches for players, coaches, and parents alike.
Croc of the Day was awarded to Frankie for her excellent tagging and determined carries and fantastic try. Well done Frankie !
In perfect weather and with plenty of smiles all round, it was another fantastic day of rugby for the Old Crocs U8s!
πŸ‰Crocs U9s v Rochdale U9s
Another super game of rugby. We played two Rochdale teams, both strong in attack. Our defence got stronger and stronger as the match went on with some brilliant tackling on display. Our attack was fast and dynamic leading to lots of well worked tries with good support play, offloads and great teamwork again πŸ‘Œ
*Opposition players of the match:-*
Amana and Jacob
*Crocs players of the match*:
Coen and Luca
Well done Crocs 🐊
πŸ‰Old Crocs U10’s faced a much bigger and well-drilled Rochdale side on a perfect morning for fast, flowing rugby. Rochdale started strongly with a few early tries, but Crocs hit back with some excellent attacking play to keep the game end-to-end. Although Rochdale’s physicality proved the difference, Crocs showed great determination, defending and attacking right to the final whistle. The players should be proud, as this was their toughest test yet and it’s clear the whole team is improving week by weekβ€”come on the Crocs! πŸŠπŸ’š
πŸ‰The U11s continued their fantastic start to the season with another strong showing against a well drilled Rochdale team.
The young crocs have been working hard on their structure this season and it made the difference again as their attacking pods allowed them to recycle the ball quickly and create gaps for their attacking runners to exploit.
Plenty to keep working on but some very positive signs.
A brilliantly contested game by both teams and we look forward to hosting Rochdale later in the season.
πŸ‰U14s played Sandal at home and continued their fine form with another home win. The game was a scrappy affair, however, strong running lines and aggressive defence meant the game was won after the first quarter. We look to continue this run of home form in next week's rd4 cup game against Ossett.
πŸ‰U15s hosted a well drilled Rochdale side. Hasnain Ali opened the scoring for Crocs after breaking down the left, then chasing his own kick to race to the line for a fantastic try.
The crocs forwards were outstanding, with some great carry’s and good ball retention. Rochdale came back strongly with good try’s from the driven lineout, but try’s from David O and a stomping try from Finn Ellis who went almost full length from ko put the game out of reach.
πŸ“† This coming weekend sees all our junior section and women at home except the U16 girls
