Wednesday's Weekly Junior Round Up
Last Sunday all of our available teams took on Pontefract. The tots also trained and were out in full force this Sunday, it was great to see the numbers who turned out.
Old Crocs under 7’s welcomed Pontefract to Broomfield for the return fixture of the opening game of the season . Both teams had shown tremendous improvement in that time with a great game of flowing rugby enjoyed any the spectators on a wonderfully bright autumn morning.
A great team performance for the U8s against tough opposition in Pontefract.
Our running with the ball, passing and support play were all sharp. The players also kept a tight line in defence which made it really tough for the opposition to break through. Special shout outs to our two debutants too,Tess and Joe, who both had a super first game of rugby.
The newly formed and ever growing U9's team welcomed Pontefract for their first fixture ever. It was fantastic to see all the new skills being learned in training put into practice. The team never took a step backwards and gave the well established Pontefract team tough competition in all areas.
Tough game for the U13s away at Pontefract. Very competitive and hard fought battle. Pontefract came out on top but the lads made a really good account of themselves and loads of positives to take 🐊
U14s took a depleted squad over to play a well organised Pontefract side. Some great rugby on display from both sides but Crocs making some uncharacteristic handling errors at critical times. Pontefract were superb in attack and defence proving to be top class hosts. Thanks to Tim for reffing.
Well done to all involved and big shout out to Pontefract RUFC.
This week we are looking forward to our SOLD OUT Junior Section Fireween event on Friday.
On Sunday all our minis are in action against Old Brods and Rochdale up at Woodhead, and the U14s are in the Yorkshire Cup.
U7s, U8s, U10s - Old Brods & Rochdale (A) - 11am kick off
U9s - Old Brods & Rochdale (A) -11.30am kick off
U14s - Baildon, Yorkshire Cup (H) - 11am kick off
Numbers are growing each week, and we are looking to put on more and more social events to support our ever expanding junior community.
The future is bright at Broomfield, come and get involved. No previous experience necessary.
