Wednesday's Weekly Junior Roundup
Last week our U7-U10 were all in action Up at Woodhead Park against Old Brodleians and Rochdale, while the U16 and U18 girls took on the Sandal Festival. Match summaries below:
Old Crossleyans Under 7’s made the short trip to Woodhead Park on Sunday to play Old Brodleians and Rochdale in a triangular tournament. Ignoring the advice of the nutritionists the team fuelled by a pre match meal of Halloween 🎃 sweets played some tremendous rugby. Croc of the week awarded to Aonghus whose tireless yards up the middle all morning created space out wide for an array of tries.
What a great mini tournament and a fantastic team effort from Crocs U8s🐊 🏆
Every single player should be super proud of their performance 👍 We worked as a team, passing, calling to each other and tackling as a unit. Most importantly everyone had lots of fun 😃. U8s Croc players of the week = Guy and Hugo
The Old Crocs U9's team had an exciting and rewarding match away at Old Brodleians. The players demonstrated sportsmanship, teaming up with players from Rochdale RUFC to ensure all had enough game time. The Crocs players made a strong impression on opposition coaches who commented on the teams talent and camaraderie.
The U10’s were missing a few players to illness, injury and holidays this week but teamed up with Old Brods to field two teams against Rochdale. Despite lacking some of their usual cohesion they played some great rugby and soon adapted to new teammates to put in another great performance.
U16s girls took part in the Sandal Festival on Sunday. We played 5 games, winning 2, 1 draw and 2 lost. It was an enjoyable day of rugby.
Crocs U18 girls improved as the festival went on after a difficult start. The day cumulated with victory against the newly formed Heath Huntresses to take the local bragging rights. Hopefully this new local derby will thrive in the coming years.
This Sunday the junior section is having a well deserved week off and only the Women's team in action, at home to Workington. Get down and support the ladies.
Crocs juniors section is growing each week (at least 7 new players across the age groups at training tonight), so drop us a message and get involved. No previous experience necessary. The future is bright at Broomfield
