JUNIOR WEEKLY ROUNDUP
U7 match report Baildon Away
Another superb turnout for the future world champions, with 16 kids turning out in some cold and damp conditions.
Some fantastic tries scored, with Freddy bagging five tries in a single game!
The squad have really been listening in training, and are passing the ball around with sweet aplomb! If I’m being hypercritical, that’s probably on us coaches and we’ll get back to some more direct running in training this week.
Some superb performances after a six-week layoff over Christmas, both in attack and defence, but there can only been one Croc of the Week. This week’s winner was Jude. Jude is always at training, attends every match, and always has a positive attitude. In addition, he played really well on Sunday. Well done Jude: keep up the good work!
This week’s opponents see Rochdale come to Fortress Broomfield. Come on Crocs!
U8s – Away at Baildon 🐊
A very wet and muddy Sunday morning for the Old Crocs U8s away at Baildon, with the rain coming down throughout the games and making conditions really tough underfoot.
Despite the weather, the Crocs showed brilliant effort, enthusiasm and teamwork, getting stuck in and never giving up. Plenty of grit, plenty of mud, and great attitudes from everyone involved.
👏 Croc of the Week: Jess – fantastic commitment and determination in very difficult conditions.
Well done Crocs – another great away performance! 💪🐊
U9s Crocs v Baildon
It was a tough intro back after the Christmas break today but the players all did brilliantly 👏 We challenged Baildon in all areas, with some excellent tackling/ defence by Crocs making it hard for Baildon to score. Our attack play was strong and the offloads were quick and when we crossed the try line it was as direct result of a well worked piece of team play showing great persistence and teamwork to break down their defence to score 👍 Great to see the players starting to naturally pick up the scrum half role during each play too 👍
Crocs player of the match = Reya
Opposition coaches player of the match = Luca
U10’s v Baildon U10’s
Old Crocs U10’s travelled to Baildon on a misty, damp morning following the Christmas and New Year break, with plenty of excitement and anticipation as the players returned to action.
The first two quarters were evenly matched, however from the third quarter onwards, the Crocs capitalised with a mix of brilliant individual runs and well-constructed team tries, showing how far the squad has come in terms of confidence and teamwork. Right through to the final whistle, Old Crocs maintained their focus and energy, eventually proving too strong for a spirited Baildon side.
The u11s travelled to Baildon with a strong side itching to play after weeks of weather disruption. The young Crocs put in a dominant performance with big tackles in defence and a focus on implementing their attacking systems, which paid great dividends with some fine tries coming from well executed handling moves in addition to some powerful runs through the opposition defence. Great debut performances from Rex and Axel.
U15s hosted Selby on Kensington. An evenly matched game with both sides showing strong defence and good competition at the breakdown. Tries from Leo, Hasnain and Noah kept Crocs in front for most of the game, but an outstanding performance from the Selby scrum half allowed the visitors to claim a narrow victory. Some great performances from Crocs. Man of the match was Ben Austin.
The Future is Bright at Broomfield
