🌟Wednesday Weekly Junior Roundup🌟
πŸ’¦ Last week was a cold and wet one, especially for the little ones but they were all superstars and braved the elements at Broomfield. The older boys and girls had cup games. Match reports below
πŸ‰ The U7s took on Heath and Old Brods, in tough conditions. Well done to all the kids for braving the elements, especially Maddox who scored 3 tries on his debut. Well done all
πŸ‰ It was a very wet Sunday morning, but the Old Crocs U8s turned out in great numbers and put in two excellent performances against West Leeds and Heath. The conditions were tough, but the team rose to it. Handling in the rain was impressive, with some brilliant carries, quick offloads, and strong support play. Defensively they worked hard all morning, showing real determination in their tagging despite the slippery pitch.
Every player contributed, showing great effort, teamwork and resilience from the first whistle to the last. A wet and muddy morning, but a fantastic one for the Old Crocs U8s!
πŸ‰ Crocs U9s v West Leeds U9s
West Leeds were strong in defence but we showed great resilience to keep pushing up the pitch and working together as a team to break through their defensive line. It was difficult to offload the ball quickly today due to the weather conditions, so it was great to see the players thinking of other options and spreading the ball wider across the pitch. Our defence got stronger throughout the game and the players all kept their defensive line well πŸ‘ A good and fun game of rugby
πŸ‰ Old Crocs U10’s faced Huddersfield Laund Hill U10’s on a very wet Sunday morning, but the conditions didn’t dampen their spirits. Both teams played some great rugby with tries scored across the pitch through individual skill and strong phase play. Once Crocs organised their defence, their counter-rucking created attacking opportunities and they proved too strong, finishing with several well-worked team tries. There’s still plenty to learn, but the future looks bright for this determined groupβ€”come on the Crocs! πŸŠπŸ’š
πŸ‰ The U11s had a training match, with plenty of positives and plenty to work on.
πŸ‰ U14s continued their unbeaten home run with a closely fought victory against Ossett in round 3 of the Yorkshire Cup. Crocs scrum dominance throughout proved the deciding factor and turned the tide in our favour with only minutes to spare. Away to Beverley on the 14th for the next round
πŸ‰ Crocs 20-Heath 0
U15s hosted local rivals Heath in the Yorkshire Cup.
The conditions resulted in several errors from both teams and after an uncharacteristically slow start, Crocs eventually broke through with a try from the constant threat Leo R. The forwards showed grit and determination to get on top of the Heath pack at scrum and lineout with Ben A and Leeland leading the charge. Another good defensive effort keeping the visitors to nil.
As the game went on Crocs proved too strong for a brave Heath team and tries for Leeland, Izyan and Hasnain put Crocs through to the next round.
πŸ‰ U16s Girls Yorkshire Cup. Bramley Phoenix 0 v Old Crossleyans 53.
Crocs girls came out on top in the first ever fixture between the two teams and secured their second win in the cup competition. The girls played some fantastic rugby in truly dreadful weather conditions.
πŸ‰ Crocs u18s girls had the pleasure of hosting Penrith in the National Cup. The result didn’t go our way losing 39-17 however the game was played in fantastic spirit. Both teams were a credit to their coaches and parents. It was a tough contest with fantastic defence from both sides. Crucially Crocs conceded tries just after half time to put the game beyond them but battled back to score 3 of their own. A great performance and new rugby friends made. We look forward to going to Penrith later in the season
πŸ‘ Well done to all the volunteers over the weekend, we hosted 8 home matches on Sunday, and without their efforts, it would've been a logistical nightmare
πŸ“† This week sees the minis take on Pontefract away for a 10am kick off and the junior boys host Pontefract, with the U14s kicking off at 11.30am and the U15s kicking off at 11am. The U16 girls are away against Aire & Wharfe, and the U18 girls are looking for a fixture.
Get along and support the future crocs.
The future is bright at Broomfield
