Weekly Junior Roundup

I
t was a full schedule last weekend as all teams were on the road. Match reports below

U7 match report
Bradford Salem
away
A fantastic turnout once again from the future world champions, fielding 10 players. Bradford Salem had a mixed team of U7s and U8s, totalling five players. We operated a system of roll on/roll off subs so those not playing were only on the touchline for a few minutes at a time.
Some fantastic defensive play, particularly from Louie, combined with some really good support play and passing resulted in a veritable try-fest!
All players played really well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves but there can only be one Croc of the Week! This weekβs deserved winner was Darla. Darlaβs commitment and attitude is absolutely superb and sheβs developing some great skills! Well done Darla!

Old Crocs U8s β Bradford Salem Away

The U8s put in a brilliant shift away at Bradford Salem, showing great teamwork, strong tagging and some fantastic running rugby. Everyone worked hard from start to finish and played with real energy.

Croc of the Week went to George for his outstanding effort in attack and defence β nonstop work rate and plenty of smart play. Well deserved!
A great morning of rugby for the Old Crocs!

U9s Crocs v Bradford Salem
Some thundering tackles and a very solid defence is how Crocβs U9s play was described which is a credit to how well we played

We defended as a unit often working together in tackles to hold up or drive Salemβs attack back including several times when we were defending our try line

That combined with some dynamic running with the ball and good passing made for a great performance by Crocs

Crocs player of the match = Theo
Opposition coaches player of the match = Hugo
Well done everyone

Old Crocs U10βs travelled to Roundhegians after a late fixture change and both teams started brightly with end-to-end rugby and brilliant tackling. Midway through the first third the Crocs stepped up, showing strong attacking play, excellent rucking, impressive counter-rucking, and some fantastic offloads that led to brilliant tries. Every player gave 100%βindividually and as a teamβfor a well-deserved Crocs victory that they can be proud of, with rugby that looked better than the pros at times. A big thank you goes to the referee for his clear communication and guidance, which helped the players learn and grow throughout the game.
Come on the Crocs

The u11βs were hosted by West Leeds. The games between the two teams last season were both physical encounters and this match followed that pattern.
The hosts had some big runners and good handling skills but met a crocs teams who were every bit ready for the battle and were spoiling for action after the disappointment of a weather disrupted few weeks.
The Crocs team managed to combine attacking flair and brutal defence to dominate the game and, while a few tries were left on the field when they chose to try the spectacular rather than build possession, the team could be very proud of their efforts.
A couple of late consolation tries for the home team were fair reward for their spirited performance and we look forward to hosting them later in the season.

U14 boys played away to 12 man brods and came away comfortable winners. The theme of the game was player development with our more established players rotating through the brods to keep the game competitive and their numbers up. Great attitudes shown by all and lightened a dull and dismal day.

U15s away at Baildon.
With 8 regular squad players missing, it was a great opportunity for the lads to step up and show what they can do. Also a demonstration of squad depth and a chance to try new positions developing new skills.
George M impressed at full back from his usual back row spot making several great tackles. Thane led the forwards well also putting in some brilliant tackles.
Both sides had to deal with heavy rain and muddy conditions but the backs still tried to move the ball with Dylan, Ernie and Harrison making breaks. Hasnain scoring the only try.
Baildon played some great rugby and were deserved winners.

U16 Girls Yorkshire Cup
Aire Wharfe 10 v Old Crossleyans 35

The Crocs girls finished top of their pool and secured a home quarter final place with their win at Aire Wharfe.

Our tries came from Ava x 3, Poppy S and Olivia S with Claudia converting all 5 tries.
