'When I joined the club back in October the big draw for me was the positive outlook from everyone involved, this was before our run of 4 wins from 5.
I watched the Goole game at Broomfield, which Crocs lost controversially but the vibe after the game was positive and everyone was looking forward to the next game and an opportunity for a win.
This wasn’t just the coaches and the players, this was the whole club, volunteers and supporters too.
Throughout the season no one questioned the team, the coaches or selection and this environment is what held the team together and supported them to the crucial victories required, especially the last 2 home games.
We have a good young team that work hard at training and on match days.
We have an enthusiastic and dedicated coaching team. In Jack we have a head coach who is crocs through and through, and his positive attitude was a crucial factor in keeping the team focussed.
His decision to change the game plan/style with 7 games to go was a bold move, but proved to be a master stroke, releasing players to play what they saw, stretch the pitch and this released a lot of tension on match days.
Resulting in the lads gaining 4 critical wins.
The club is in a good place and is going from strength to strength, especially with the growing mini, junior and women’s teams, enthusiastically supported by the superb volunteer coaches that dedicate their time to help grow these teams.
It’s been an indifferent season results wise, but an enjoyable one. A season we can build on and I am really looking forward to getting going again after a short break.
Well done everyone let’s go again and push forward next season.
